नाइजीरिया इस समय दशक की सबसे भीषण बाढ़ का सामना कर रहा है। 600 से ज्यादा लोग काल की घास बन चुके हैं। इस भीषण आपदा में 13 लाख से ज्यादा लोग बेघर होकर सड़क पर रहने को मजबूर हैं. इससे पहले 2012 में देश में बाढ़ आई थी, जिसमें 21 लाख से ज्यादा लोग विस्थापित हुए थे और 363 लोगों की मौत हुई थी। संयुक्त राष्ट्र का कहना है कि नाइजीरिया दुनिया के उन छह देशों में शामिल है जो भुखमरी के विनाशकारी संकट का सामना कर रहे हैं।

Nigeria is currently facing the worst floods of the decade. More than 600 people have become the grass of time. In this horrific disaster, more than 13 lakh people are homeless and forced to live on the road. Earlier in 2012, there was a flood in the country, in which more than 21 lakh people were displaced and 363 people died. The United Nations says that Nigeria is among six countries in the world facing the devastating crisis of starvation.

नाइजीरिया के मानवीय मामलों के मंत्रालय द्वारा ट्विटर पर जारी एक बयान में कहा गया है कि आपदा ने 1.3 मिलियन से अधिक लोगों को उनके घरों से निकालने के लिए मजबूर किया है। मानवीय मामलों के मंत्री सादिया उमर फारूक ने कहा, “दुर्भाग्य से, 16 अक्टूबर, 2022 तक, 603 से अधिक लोग अपनी जान गंवा चुके हैं।”

A statement released on Twitter by Nigeria’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs said the disaster has forced the evacuation of more than 1.3 million people from their homes. “Unfortunately, as of October 16, 2022, more than 603 people have lost their lives,” Humanitarian Affairs Minister Sadia Umar Farooq said.

मंत्री ने कहा कि पिछले सप्ताह तक मरने वालों की संख्या 500 थी, लेकिन कुछ राज्य सरकारें बाढ़ के लिए तैयार नहीं थीं, इसलिए यह संख्या बढ़ गई है। उमर फारूक ने कहा कि बाढ़ ने 82,000 से अधिक घरों और लगभग 110,000 हेक्टेयर (272,000 एकड़) कृषि भूमि को पूरी तरह से नष्ट कर दिया।

The minister said that till last week the death toll was 500, but some state governments were not prepared for the floods, so this number has increased. Umar Farooq said the floods completely destroyed more than 82,000 homes and about 110,000 hectares (272,000 acres) of agricultural land.

नेशनल इमरजेंसी मैनेजमेंट एजेंसी (एनईएमए) का कहना है कि बारिश का मौसम आमतौर पर जून के आसपास शुरू होता है, अगस्त के बाद से बारिश ने गंभीर रूप दिखाना शुरू कर दिया। ऐसा आमतौर पर नहीं होता है। इससे पहले 2012 में भी देश को विनाशकारी बाढ़ का सामना करना पड़ा था। उस समय आपदा में 363 लोगों की मौत हुई थी और 21 लाख से ज्यादा लोग विस्थापित हुए थे।

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says that the rainy season usually starts around June, from August onwards the rains started showing severe form. This usually doesn’t happen. Earlier in 2012 also the country had to face devastating floods. At that time 363 people died in the disaster and more than 21 lakh people were displaced.

यूक्रेन और रूस के बीच चल रहे युद्ध के कारण दुनिया के कई देश कई सामानों पर प्रतिबंध और बढ़ती महंगाई के कारण भुखमरी का सामना कर रहे हैं। विश्व खाद्य कार्यक्रम और संयुक्त राष्ट्र खाद्य एवं कृषि संगठन ने पिछले महीने कहा था कि नाइजीरिया उन छह देशों में शामिल है जो विनाशकारी स्तर की भूख का सामना कर रहे हैं।

Due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, many countries of the world are facing starvation due to restrictions on many goods and rising inflation. The World Food Program and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization said last month that Nigeria was among six countries facing devastating levels of hunger.
