आईसीसी टी20 वर्ल्ड कप में पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश के बीच होने वाला मैच सेमीफाइनल से पहले सेमीफाइनल जैसा हो गया. दक्षिण अफ्रीका की टीम को नीदरलैंड के खिलाफ उलटफेर का सामना करना पड़ा और बांग्लादेश के साथ अगले दौर की पाकिस्तान की उम्मीदें पूरी तरह से जिंदा थीं। इस मैच में बांग्लादेश के कप्तान शाकिब अल हसन के आउट होने पर विवाद खड़ा हो गया था। इस विवाद पर पाकिस्तान के गेंदबाज शादाब खान ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी।

इस मैच में बांग्लादेश के कप्तान शाकिब अल हसन को अंपायर ने एलबीडब्ल्यू कर दिया, जिसे थर्ड अंपायर ने रिव्यू में आउट करार दिया। इस फैसले को लेकर विवाद तब सामने आया है जब गेंद बल्ले से टकराकर पैड से टकराती नजर आई। ऐसे में बल्लेबाज को नॉट आउट घोषित कर देना चाहिए था। इस पर शादाब ने कहा, ‘अंपायर ने उन्हें आउट करार दिया। इसका मतलब है कि वह आउट हो गए हैं।’

टॉस जीतकर बांग्लादेश के कप्तान शाकिब अल हसन ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करने का फैसला किया लेकिन बड़ा स्कोर बनाने में नाकाम रहे। नजमुल हुसैन ने 48 गेंदों में 7 चौकों की मदद से 54 रन बनाए। सौम्या सरकार ने 24 जबकि अफिफ ने 20 रन की पारी खेलकर टीम का स्कोर 127 रन तक पहुंचाया. शाहीन शाह अफरीदी ने 4 ओवर में 22 रन देकर 4 विकेट लिए जबकि शादाब खान ने 2 बल्लेबाजों को आउट किया।
